Wind Turbines By Nature

Natural Renewable Energy?

I read somewhere last week that scientists are examining sycamore seeds to see if they can help them improve the design of wind turbine blades and boost their efficiency.

How cool is that?

I think most of us as kids had hours of fun playing "helicopters" with these fascinating seeds. I certainly did! I think it's great that we can learn or thing or two from them to help us to produce greener energy. Afterall nature has been honing the design of this little natural turbines for millenia, human engineers have only been tinkering for a few decades.

I am sure we still have a thing or two to learn from Mother Nature!

Many thanks to Gerard Lovett for allowing us to use his great photo.
