12V Leisure Batteries

Leisure batteries are commonly used in caravans, boats, camper vans etc to provide 12V power for lighting and 12V appliances. They are also used to power electric fence energisers and can be a cheap and cheerful way to provide power in small and non critical off-grid power and lighting systems.

Leisure batteries are considerably cheaper than Gel or Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) deep cycle alternatives. Leisure batteries are usually lead acid construction with wet cells; basic leisure batteries will require water levels to be checked and topped up as necessary, better quality batteries will normally be supplied as sealed, maintenance free and are effectively "fit and forget".
